i just bought an 85 monte carlo which i get on tuesday the car has an am radio with stock speakers i have a temp head unit to put in and i plan on removing the dash speaker and putting xs65 comps in the doors i'm going to deaden the doors and im thinking the floor too im not sure yet but i was looking at these speakers does anyone have them that can give me a good review on them i was looking at a jl 250 watt amp or a rockford 200 watt amp to power them still contimplating though

I can tell you right now that you're looking at the wrong amps. You'll need at least a 2 channel amp to run those comps and the ones you mentioned are for running one subwoofer.

a friend of mine has a set on a powerbass xa2150 with 150 watts going to each side and they sound incredible. some of the smoothest i have heard.

if you want to go the jl route for amps i would go with a 300/2 not the 250/1 which as mentioned above is a sub amp

yeah i looked through my jl catalog and realized i had the wrong amps on there

I heard these comps in a few cars at a car show and they sounded excellent. Very defined and detailed mids, smooth tweeters and the midbass was kickin hard. Try to find a place to listen to them if possible.

haven't heard the tweeter, but I just put the X65 in my doors and they are awesome. if you can afford them, go with them and throw as much power as you can at them.

I'm puttin a set in the kicks as we speak.....powered by my PPI pc4400.2....bridged 200x2....should be nice...will let you know how they are

Got my CTX from Woofersetc since they are authorized dealers so you get the full warranty incase anything ever happens.
