I just purchased an ID8 to fill in for my midbass and to provide bass when I need to take my Shivas out for autocross etc. However, I have two amps I can power this sub with but I'm not sure which one to use. I could use my Coustic 160SE which will give it 160W @ 14.4v bridged at 4 ohms, or I could hook up my RF 225.2 to each voice coil but that is like 225watts at 12.# volts so I'm concerned about giving it too much power.
Anyone know what I can safely deliver to this sub? It will be in a sealed enclosure and the sub will be facing up because it is being mounted in my rear deck of my car.
