Image Dynamics 12" iDQ vs. Elemental Design 13Kv.2

very few people here like ED. I think they sound good, and for the price they are nice. The 13kv.2 was very similar to the ID series but not the IDQ. The IDQ will probably have more sq, and the kv maybe more output.

I just recently purchased 2 of them less then a month ago from ED. They are still in the packaging and never taken out. If you are interested in buying 1 or 2, then let me know.

2 13kv.2 subs

IDq and the 13Ov.2 are more carmparable. I never heard a Ov.2 but i did like my 2 13Kv.3 for the 3 months they lasted. was plenty loud for me at the time off 500 watts total.

i say get the Q

edit: actually save up and get IDmax or fi Q to run off the niNe. 5. it should ~800 watts.

i don't know how people have such problems with Ed subs. I have had two ed 13o's that work great for quite a while. I have a friend that had a 13k for a couple of years with 400w with no problems

there are a quite a bit of people that ran eD subs for just a couple months, like myself, and they blew. we then ship them back for warranty they won't honor it. They say its user error but most will say high failure product. I know i didnt clip the subs but i set my gains with a dmm but its what ever now. I just got my 15" Q in the mail today

i'm gonna side with eD and say it was user error. You seem to have blown quite a few subs. I've owned and used probably around 20 different subs, and hooked up hundreds more. I've never once blown a sub.

The 13kv.3s were my first subs and when i say the TC9(my second sub) blew it away i meant it was louder and sounded better than the 13kv.3s. My TC9 still works and is pounding in my car right now. But there are other people on here that blew their 13kv.2 very fast. So i say its poor building

congratulations. I still say its user error. Your inexperience and/or stupidity allowed you to push the subs past their breaking point. It is not difficult to tell when you are pushing a sub too hard. Its common sense. Look at the sub. Listen to it at loud volume. I installed a pair of those very subs you are speaking of, and they are still running strong. Sure they may be more prone to damage than most subs, but if you know how to set an amp that shouldnt matter.
