I'm thinking about 4 8's...

Alright, sorry for the bump. But...

I just called RE and they said the recommended enclosure size for the RE10 was .5 - .65 ft^3, contrary to what the site says. But I'll just assume it's .5 - .83 ft^3.

That, I can work with. But isn't that a small box for a 10? I mean, every other 10" sub I looked at had enclosure recommendations of close to 1 cubic foot. Like the Type S I was looking at...

How will the RE10 compare to the Type S?

The Boston G5 10" is recomended to go in .5^3 and you can add a passive radiator to increase output by about 3db.Still needing only .5^3. The JL Audio 10W6V2 only needs .625^3 but if remember correctly it needs a little more depth than some of the other tens designed for small sealed enclosures.

I am considering using the G5 and the passives in my regular cab. The passive radiators need only about 3" depth so I think it will look cool mounting it higher than the sub causing people to wonder how the hell you mounted a 10" sub there.

Never used the RL-i but have seen much positive feedback here on it.

as far as 8's are in stock now i would do 2 l7 8s and port them if you want loud with some space left over.

i'd still recommend you to do this idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif, i'm doing this setup in the same vehicle you have, they S8L7's get descently loud, especially if you can fit them in ported. which i know you can, cause i can //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm lookin more for SQ, but I like the suggestion. But, I don't have the money for 2 L7's and an amp that would power them.

I just saw 4 Re 8" subs in a box and a JBL 600.1 for sale on fullsizechevy.com. He is asking $350 for local pick up in Houston. In case you are still considering that option.
