Long story: I Bought a clarion dxz835mp in like 2003. I So sad.

Shortly thereafter, my Blazer also crapped the bed. So I pull the clarion out, really just for sentimental reasons.

I got a Ford Ranger, and it had some lousy sony in it, which half the buttons worked, and when they did, it was with their own prerogative.

Being the intrepid ebayer that I am, I saw the opportunity, and won the same head unit, but the sub level button didn't work, and no cage. Ha! I still had a working faceplate, and cage! Bidding war ensued, and I won!

I get the HU all is good, change faces and everything is perfect. I get antsy. I look at the "new" face, has a scratch on it, but otherwise, perfect shape. Mine has 7 years of button pressing wear going on.

Perform minor surgery, terrified of endinf up with 2 worthless faceplates, swap over all the buttons that were worn, and now I have a perfectly working HU with perfect buttons //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cliff notes - HU broke, bought same model HU on ebay, switched out all the worn buttons, never tried before, all works good, go me.
