everyone is unfortunately. christmas is suppose to be a joyous time of year, but spending all your money on gifts and watching the bills pile up just make it stressful

The entire meaning of the day is lost in a commercialized crazed capitalistic 30 day long shopping binge. Makes me a little sick, and my wife and her entire family is part of this and I am subject to paying for all of this.

it sounds like this has alot less to do with Christmas and more to do with your scrooge of a family... I mean honestly I could by my parents $5 yankee candles each and they would be just as happy. There is just so much to be happy for on the holiday to have everyone home and eating under 1 roof that the gifts just don't matter.

Im Active Duty Marine Corps, I Enjoy the meaning of the holiday, but not so much the commercialized capitalistic front that boosts fourth quarter sales across all retail markets. My Parents and younger sibling have been no help as to what they would like as a gift/small token of my appreciation for staying the hell out of my hair. MY wife, also has been no help at all. Her family is not big into the gift giving scene. My family is(kinda). In all honesty im debating just taking myself, my better half, and our dog home for christmas and handing them each a coke and telling them to smile and shut the fawk up. Im home for a holiday and i rarely ever visit. Wouldnt my presence in the nest for the holiday be enough of a gift anyways?

If someone says they dont know what they want, or to not get them anything. Dont get them anything, that doesnt seem too hard to me.

Sure, your presence is enough of a gift, when you walk in the door, wear a sticky bow thing and one of those t: and from: tags, and put to: my family from: santa. And there you have it.

Excellent... I like it.. bring my new family into my other one wearing Bows and tags.. maybe make the dog a wrapping paper dog coat or something.. I like it... but i think i should at least bring in some beverages... or something small.. ahhhhh maybe make it a blockbuster night or something...
