I have an eclipse cd3000 for my hu. I was workin on some wires behind it and turned the car on. To my surprise the HU turned on. I was surprised because moments before I cut the ground wire, meaning, the ground was not connected nor was it touching any metal. And yet my head unit still played music. WHAT IS THE DEAL? How is it doing this?

Mr. denim has an older model eclipse that does the same thing . Confused the poo poo out of us . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've had headunits do that to me in the past.

Turned out that the unit being mounted (in its sleeve and bolted into the dash) + having the antenna connected created enough of a ground for the unit to power on.

Edit: psypho and Chevy beat me to it.

Denim's eclipse had only a constant 12v lead connected , nothing else . It was also in NDmustang's ( nick) hands, touching nothing . Wierdest thing I have ever seen . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

We all thought it was the antenna doing it as well...

When it turned on without it, that's when we got creeped out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
