I'm Lost

Ok, i checked at local audio shops and best buy and circuit city etc for installation. They have lost their mind. Some place was trying to charge me 70 something per sub and amp. I almost told him to kiss my a$s, but i figured that wouldnt be nice and he was only doing his job. Now, if someone know any websites on where it walk me through wiring my own equipment such as, subs, speakers, amps, and HU. then it will be much appreciated. but mainly i just want to kno how to wire my subs. And which one is better 4 ohm or 2 ohm subs. or does that depend on my amp? just throw what ever advice you can, its much appreciated.

Wiring hu's, subs, and amps is simple.(once u know how!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif) I prefer 8 ohm subs because you can bridge 2 subs down to 2 ohms and some amps are good enough to run at 2 ohms without shutting down. The higher the ohms, the more options you have to configure the subs. Wiring an amp consists of a power wire to an inline fuse to the battery, the ground wire to a grounded metal piece of the car, and the remote wire to the remote on the radio. The rca's go to the outputs on the hu or eq or sound processor or master unit(whichever one applies in your case). The speakers go to the outputs for the speaker leads. Plus to Plus, Minus to minus. The subs are the easiest. Plus to Plus and Minus to Minus if they are wired in parallel( the best way (imo) for the most powerful sound. The h u is a little more complicated but not much. You just have to know which wires are power, ground, acc, the speakers +'s and -'s and the remote wire for the amp. Sometimes they have more wires but usually those are the basic wires that you hook up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Hoped this helped a little. I paid someone to hook my very first system up (way back in 1988!) and i watched him. Every since then, i've been doing it myself!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

everyone knows someone who has put a system in their car. so be careful, take your time, and try it yourself and if you hit a stumbling block call your experienced friend for some advice. the biggest problem is getting over your own insecurities.

last time i checked 2 8 ohm sub's wired in parrelel was only 4 ohm's

to answer your question it depends mostly on your amp this is my advise take to a pro who knows. its worth the money down the stretch, i know at my shop we warranty all our work for life

You're right! I was talking about when they are bridged. My bad! Ps- Make sure to disconnect the negative battery post from the car so you don't short anything out. Its very easy to do, even when you're experienced even more so when you're not!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
