Im fat. Halp.

ok this is what i eat

Breakfast

either 2 eggs--scrambled, hard-boiled, or over easy (or) 3 oz of lean meat--turky, chicken, ham lean pork sausage (no bacon..not enough protein)

Some form of Complex carb...usually 1 slice of whole grain bread or 1/2 cup of plain Quaker oatmeal

and 1 teaspoon of fat--so i butter my bread with Blue Bonnet minus the ***** fat

Lunch

4-6 oz of lean protein

Some form of complex carbs--can be whole grain bread/bagel or a starchy veggie such as potato, kidney beans, black beans, garbonzo beans, lentils.

one or two servings (1cup) of a non-starchy veggie--green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce (usually the darker the green the more nutrients) so i do spinach leaves.

2 teaspoons of fat--either real butter or olive, canola, or almond oil (or) salad dressing on my greens.

dinner is the same as lunch except i can replace the starchy veggie or complex carb with 3/4 cup of low sugar fruits

BTW....if you drink soda pop.. QUIT. not even diet pop...carbanation robs your body of valuable oxygen. All i drink is water, fat-free milk or decaf coffee/tea with no cream or sugar

Is Diet Lipton Rasberry white tea ok?

I can't stand to drink nothing but water, not to mention we go through some Culligan water as that is all my wife and kids drink for the most part.

overall a good diet, but you'd be better off throwing in a meal in between each meal and making them all smaller if need be (although it looks like you already have pretty small portions)

You'll have an increase of metabolism, as well as a decrease in muscle loss overtime, and if you're working out and trying to build muscle, you should already be eating at least those two extra meals, as well as some kind of protein right before bed may do you good

my muscle is fine, i'm not losing any mass at all.

My problem with the whole you need to eat small meals 5-6 times a day. I can't due to my job and the fact I have a shitty stomach, which means I would eventually end up on the toliet! I would lose my job, lol!
Carry around a bag of unsalted almonds.

Even if its just a small snack, a single piece of chicken, a piece of fruit, something at all as long as we're not talkin straight sugar, it will do you good. Its never good to go more than 4 or 5 hours max without eating

beerdrnkr said almonds, excellent snack, just make sure you're not eating loads of them all day

You will as you age, especially if you don't lift or workout, and the problem is by the time you realize it its usually too late and you have a lot of catching up to do

Shit, no beer!
actually i should clarify .... Sugar glucose is the main energy source for all tissues. Glucose comes from three sources: food, synthesis in the body, and break down of glycogen (the form of glucose that the body stores in the liver).

Hormones maintain a constant concentration of glucose in the blood, which is especially important for the brain because it cannot make or store glucose but depends on glucose supplied by the blood. Even brief periods of low glucose levels (hypoglycemia) can cause brain damage.

Insulin and glucagons, secreted by the pancreas, regulate blood glucose levels. Insulin lowers the glucose concentration in the blood, and glucagon raises it. Because maintaining blood sugar levels is of extreme importance for your body, there are also other hormones released from the adrenal and pituitary glands to support glucagon’s function.

Alcohol messes with all three glucose sources and with the actions of regulatory hormones.

Most often chronic drinkers don’t get enough glucose through their diets. If you don’t eat, the glycogen stored in your liver will be used up within a few hours. In addition, the body has trouble making more glucose because it is expending its energy metabolizing the alcohol. Both of these effects of alcohol can cause severe hypoglycemia 6 to 36 hours after a binge drinking episode.

Even if you think that can’t happen to you because you ate a healthy meal, you are wrong. Alcohol can still mess up blood sugar levels. If that’s not enough, studies have shown that acute alcohol consumption can impair the hormonal response to hypoglycemia. So not only do you develop hypoglycemia, your body also has trouble regulating and getting your blood sugar levels back to normal.

trust me...i get enough of a workout at work and raising three boys....however, once i lose the weight i want, i will begin my weight lifting and running and muscle toning. Not gonna build any real mass as i'm already pretty muscular, more of low weight lots of reps toning
