Ive been running 2 10w6v2 for about 2 years and was very satisfied. Over the course of a year one of them started developing a tear which over time got bigger and bigger. The ole Ca glue just wasnt cutting it anymore. So i noticed all the places that sell surrounds only offer it for version 1 not the v2. I contacted jl and they told me $155 they will replace every moving part on the woofer I replied the cone and spider is in excellent shape all I need is the surround. They replied we dont offer that service you would have to pay for the entire refurbishment. I said why would I pay for $155 for something that cost $20 and replace parts that dont need replacing, I said a whole lot more but ill leave that out no response on their part. So now the w6's are retired and I went with 2 Re sx10d4 which i got for $159 each. Im done with jl audio

Why pay a shit ton for a woofer just to have it break and pay a shit ton to fix it?

The high costs of repairing JL subs also F's up their resale value.

Cant buy used because if it needs repair its about the same expense as buying a new sub.

JL Audio screws over their customers.

jl is a good product that sounds good but it is not the best thing out there like some ppl claim. they have done an outstanding job of promoting there product that is why some ppl think this.

I actually didnt use CA its the first thing that came to mind when i was writing the thread i got the recommendation off of this site. Thats just crazy surrounds get damaged so easily and they expect a customer to fork over $155 or take a complete loss of $300 of when it was purchased new b4 the prices went down. Dont get me wrong i loved the w6 but for the $ i could of done better but i got 1 for free and paid for the other
