im confused

someone gave me 2 pair of bass inferno 6.5 4-way speaker whick are 300 watts a pair

thing is there is a lot of distortion when i crank the volume up to about 50 and when the bass hit it just drains my mid and highs... do i need and amp on them or do the speakers **** because my kenwood 2-way sounded better

If you're running them off the head units internal amp you're going to get distortion when you crank it up all the way regardless. But if you also have the eq settings on your h/u cranked all the way up, that doesn't help either.

And they are most likely cutting out because you're drawing too much current for your electrical set up.

i have a pioneer 7800mp and the eq is on flat

so the amp on the mids would be better huh?

yes sir. however I've never heard if bass inferno, so I can't tell you if that's just a poor quality speaker or not...
