Im Addicted To Blu-Ray... lol

As far as a player, you can get a Samsung bd-1500 on amazon for around $150.00. I have this blu ray player and i havent found a movie yet that wont play on it.
Favorite Blu's thus far are: Pearl Harbor, Night at the Museum, Dark Knight, and Into the Blue
got a free bd-1500 with my sammy purchase.. Sold it to a buddy, he loves it.. Why wouldnt a movie play on it..?? its less than a yr old BR player..

Never watched a blue ray disc tbh.
like said many times, including by myself.. Its for the enthusiast or someone who wants the best PQ.. If you dont have an HDTV theres no point, and even some upscaled dvd's look good very good ( at best .. From scans i have done, on a ps3, a upscaled dvd is around 720p quality, (but the sound is nowhere near DTS-HD) but still nowhere near BR in PQ and sound..

Most of them you could order a disc firmware update from the company. But I use my PS3 for Blu-ray. Its crazy how my PS3 is almost three years old and its still on of the best players on the market.

Also I just brought a digital filter/ surge protector for cheap. It cleans up the image a little bit, especially on cable. But IMO usually cartoons seem to be the best looking on Blu-Ray, with all the colors. Even though I would say dark knight is nice to watch, it still doesn't look better than Afro Samurai or Wall-E

I'm still watching in 480p on a 92" screen/ DLP projector and honestly it's more then vivid enough for me. On close ups you can clearly pores on peoples skin, etc... and that's more detail then I care to see.

I do like HD on the little 32" tv in the bedroom though...

i'm torn between the samsung bd-1600 and the ps3 for my blu-ray player..
both good.. if you would use the ps3 at all do that.. great BR player and lots of options and adjustments , updates, firmware etc.. just get the sony ps3 remote if yu do tho.. makes navigating the menu 10x faster than going through the controller

ps3. players have caught up in terms of quality but still not in terms of flexibility. built hd, media streaming from the pc and gaming makes the ps3 the winner easily.

i've had the hd bug for a while now. i have 3 dvds 40 blurays and 45 hddvds. btw guys led tvs are just lcd tvs w. led backlights they aren't anything too spectacular.

Netflix thing is awesome plus Ihave the samsung 1600 in my living room, and the 4600 in my bedroom so I can stream movies while I am waiting for the blu rays to come. Here is my set up samsung 46 inch, pioneer vsx 1019h reciever, av123 towers and surrounds, dual velodyne deq-10r's one out front the othe behind the couch. IROBOT is my favorite show off blu ray or wall-e.

here is the mount it has metal on the back and lag screws for finding a stud each shelf holds about 30 lbs or so. I am only using 2 of the 3 shelves.

Yea i was on a long debate about the power conditioners / surge protectors for a while, and ended up picking this up from my buddy near wholesale.. New for $250.. Badass unit here and it has worked great and really does improve PQ

depends on what kind of tv ( brand ) and what kind of LED.. My 7100 kills my 52a750 in pq.. everything is sharper, colors are brighter whites are as white as can be and darks are pitch black ( with no saturation ) and clearer in every way.. So yea , actually there is a pretty big difference,. This coming who has had both, and calibrated.. Within 7 months

Oh yea .. another big plus to LED.. flashlighting, ( especially those who use dynamic settings , or crank up the backlight or brightness ) is virtually gone.. Something my lcd couldnt do after i did 3 pro calibrations...
