I'm a idiot.
"im an idiot", not "a idiot". Since @kr15 said the trolls werent biting LOL :D
Idiot. Just idiot.
But I haven't got to test my theory since I still can't bend over enough to get to the amps or get in and out of the car to many times

what is the mistake you fear that you have made? Inquiring minds want to know!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

also, im assuming that you injured yourself based on your statement of limited mobility. You ok man?

edit, i think i recall a post of yours saying that youre on disability from work and running out of movies to watch

I got back surgery.

The MS-8 tells you to set the gains at the presumed 2v position. I think I might have misinterpreted that position because I misinterpreted my input range. I read a article from DD that said where 2v was but that article based off 6v max.

No DSP likes the be ran at full power, it will always introduce processor noise. I think I had to max mine out because I've been setting the amps 2v shy of the amps 2v position.

Basically I thought my amps where 6v so gains would be about 1/2 way. Well they are 8v. I still got a 1/4 turn to reach 2v. So I can add a good bit of gain and back the DSP off about 6db. That should lower the noise floor a lot and bring it just under audible.

All this is tricky with a stock HU. There is a fine line that has to be meet with DSP volume, HU volume, and gain.

I got a buddy coming by later to help me out. If this was my noise issue all this time I'm going to lose my **** mind.

I got the DSP backed off since you do it with the remote. It's good on CD but USB is not near as hot of a source. And I'm normally using USB. Typically playing a CD my master volume is about 6 clicks down from my USB volume.

ahhhhhh, that would make a fella facepalm :/

its also annoying how usb is a much quieter source, as thats what i use 99.9% of the time too

A good HU will have SLA which can bring USB up or CD down. But the old Stocky don't have it.
the avh-x4500bt does have a SLA adjuster, i just keep forgetting to change it. That being said, whenever i remote start the car and then kill it with the brake pedal, it has a tendency of completely resetting my settings in the h/u. Its been doing it for a while now and ive rewired the deck a couple times to make sure that wasnt the problem. I think my car is haunted by an electrical demon
