Im a friggin genius!!!!

The act wasnt to bad, jus meant i had to spend 4 hrs i could have been at work taking a test instead. in this area colleges want your act scores with your application and if you havent taken it you can take an equivalency test.

32, math ***** me. im not that great at math so i figured there was no reason to try it again being as i maxed on everything else... i forget my exact math score. it was nothing to brag about though
damn! thata boy. My math is what killed me too, I scored a perfect in english and reading, I dont remember my other scores tho... not as good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I proved you wrong twice now!
You OBVIOUSLY dont understand a bell curve if you are continuing to argue this!

This is a bell curve for an IQ test scoring I found for ya Ryan,

This is what the results of EVERY age group's scores look like, from 18 to 80 years old and everything in between. Notice how there is ALWAYS the same amount of people achieving each score nomatter what age group. This easily DISPROVES your argument that as age increase, IQ tends towards 100. If I need to explain this ANY further, you must have some learning disability because this is getting ridiculous... I think every one who has viewed this thread understands this concept except for you.
THAT DOESNT EXPLAIN ANYTHING. what are you arguing? tell me how the statement that IQ levels out around 100 isnt true? im not saying people always start out way over 100, they dont. but for those who DO score high, theyre scores level out over time. which is COMPLETELY possible with a bell curve. tell me how the statement is false. give me an actual explaination

yeah, too bad the act can't measure common sense, spatial inteligence etc. im proud of my score but i still feel it presents too narrow of a spectrum and therefore isn't worth too much beyond a scholastic placment aid.... but i guess thats what its purpose is

for example, if there was a spelling part.... i'd have scored negative

i dont know that theres any test that covers everything. you just gotta take em all and get an assesment from that

yes, community is the P/C term i guess. could be worse, i could've called it a college with an ashtray
community sux. i been here at bucks county community for 3 years. i dont know the current statistics, but bucks used to be (and may still be) the 3rd best community college in the nation for curriculum or whatever. but i think it still sux, lol. but im transfering to bloomsburg in spring thankfully.

they all, for the most part are just ahademic nonsense
yeah i think the SAT is bs. and im gonna ssume that ACT is the same. but the WAIS is totally different from those. its not academic, it determines memory, processing speed, shit like that. and i can see how it can be really helpful in highlighting ones attributes

IMO the sat seems tougher. my community college was full of 40 yearold housewives it really sucked

I have given you 3 explainations now! haha I'll try to be clearer I guess.

Lets assume that the population of 21 year olds is 100. These 100 people take the WAIS. Some do well, some do poor, some do ok, some do great. Lets say the test was out of 100 points and the mean was a 60. We now take that mean score and say whomever got closest to that (in a real population many people would get exactly that) has an IQ of 100. Roughly 50 people will have a score higher than 60, and roughly 50 people will have a score below 60. Now we further divide those people up using standard deviations. In most tests, 15 is the standard deviation. This means 68% (68 people) out of our population of one hundred 21 year olds will have an IQ between 85 and 115. ALWAYS, this is the nature of the bell curve. 95% (95 people) will have an IQ between 70 and 130. ALWAYS, again, this is the nature of the curve. We can go on..

Now we wait 40 years and have this same population, now 61 years old, take the test again. Some do well, some do poor, some do ok, some do great. Again, the test was out of 100. This time, the mean was 68 (or anything, it doesnt matter). We again take that mean score and whoever got it, has an IQ of 100. Still, roughly 50 people have scores above and 50 have scores below. Again, we further divide them up. 68 people have IQs between 85 and 115, 95 people have scores between 70 and 130... etc..

Notice that the same amount of people achieve each IQ level regardless of how each individual scores on the test. The mean will ALWAYS be 100, and the same amount of people will ALWAYS have scores in each standard deviation. Thus, scores DO NOT tend to 100.

Please tell me this made sense... I dont know if I can break it down any further for you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

[edit for some spelling...]
