Ok so i posted a while back how i got jacked ( http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=95969 ) andso now i got the money back from the insurance and im afraid to do anything to big again. I have an 220 amp alt just sitting around im deciding wether to install or sell. I have an eclipse 3404 and a kicker 200.2 on the way to power my cdt 6.5 ef's. Heres my question. What would you guys do. Im thinking of just getting a small set up, like a 600 watt amp (hifonics bc605d) and a single sub and keep price down then. Or would you go better and i've also been playing with buying a used sx or like new type r's and feeding what ever i get with a hifonics 1500. What would you guys do and if your selling anything dont be afraid to offer if you think it suites my needs.

P.S. i'll be making my own box.

i got my stuff jacked as well... get it insured, don't wang in residential areas, and if this is a problem (which i hope it's not, but see it all the time) don't put audiobahn or kicker stickers on your windows...

i was stupid... i was at college, wanged all year til may (yea, two weeks prior to going home) never had an issue, thought i was safe.. so i went out and bumped it for a bit in the parking lot, tweaked some settings... left... 10 mins later guy in an astro van (got it on video but couldn't get anything out of it... fo f'n figure) broke my door lock and took everything...

now i don't take anything with me back to college...

anyways, get whatever system you want, but insure it, and be smart...

Well if i were in your shoes my feet would be squished. but i would invest in a good alarm with a pager and get whatever you want. theres no reason not to have good stuff just protect it.

For any that might actually care or wonder, i ended up buying a power hx2 from bumpin150s and with my next paycheck or to im installing an alarm, not to mention bolting everything down.

Sounds good. Go redneck on the bolting down part. Add metal til it takes you, personally, forever to get it out. At least that's my sugguestion.

well like the theives couldn't get my trunk to pop so they went from the back seats last time, but i had 2 boxs each with 2 twelves that could be pulled out, this time tho im going to have this 15 inch hx2 with a ported box that they woulnt be able to get from the back. and yea, definiatly securing it. going to secure my amps in corners with mdf

You wanna make sure it wont disappear and REALLY piss them folks off? Put the Brutus under a seat, screw it down.

Put the sub box in the back, bolt it down.

Use a different size bolt for every bolt you have, and for the amp, use screws that have a little hexagon shape to them or whatever...

Make sure they cant yank 'em out, and make sure it takes them an hour to find the right tools to get them out lol

I'd rather have someone put a knife through my woofer than to steal the box and the woofer and have to rebuild the box whereas the sub can be replaced via insurance...and you dont have to go through rebuilding that blasted box...
