say you wanted to go with one brand for everything (except h/u) what would you go with?? just wonderin.....or would you choose different brands...tryin to hook my wifes car up with 2 JLw7's and a couple of JBL1200.1's but she thinks everything has to match.....and she looks for the cute stuff.....i will never understand her....aynways this site is for her....she thinks i'm a dork for choosin different types of equipment....so she will be reading this thread to see what you said and see if i'm right. she also wan'ts to know what you would recomend for a '02 eclipse..................(she said she want's it to be louder than my burban (8 JLw6's 4 JBL1200.1'S) i just don't think it's possible in an eclipse.

Naw I odnt think its possible either...

If I were to stick with 1 brand it'd be Alpine. Great h/us, great amps, great subs, great everything...

Looking at your signature???!!? Why didn't you do all Alpine?

Any, I totally disagree. My feeling is there isn't a company that can do everything right. And, there is no real advantage to having all the same brand.

It's certainly not necessary to have all equipment the same brand, and I'd wager that very few people actually do that. Unless you buy Pioneer stuff from K-Mart 'cuz that's all they carry lol.

With the possible exception of Alpine, not many companies do it all and do it well. The best speakers aren't made by amplifier companies, and vice-versa.

thanks for all your posts.......we went and picked out her system today....she got the dehp9400mp pioneer h/u....mids and highs she followed in my tracks and bought mb quarts..... the amp for them is a orion 2 channel 375watt. and she actually went with the 2 JLw7 12's. and 2 JBL1200.1's. we are in the middle of install in it all........i think she's gonna blow the panels of that little eclipse but hey it's her choice........think we made good decisions in equipment?

Id have to say good choice on equipment! Thats gonna rock in the eclipse. Your wife will be 10x cooler now! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah i'm tryin to teach her how to install all this stuff...it was actually fun....untill she shocked the pizz outta herself.......LOL. nah she said it didn't hurt that bad......she's already talkin about competin in shows and crap.......i think she needs a little more before she does

Originally posted by Brock I wish my girlfriend was like that. "Hey let me install those subs! The we can take it to the car show and stay there all day!" The day I hear that will be awesome...

suprisingly she was the one who introduced me to car audio.....her being 3 years older than me she was drivin before me.......i remember the day she pulled up and had 2 shitty mtx subs run off a 500watts kenwood amp

If I had to do a setup with everything BUT the head unit matching, I would tend to lean towards JL Audio, but would end up with Kicker (brand loyalty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ). And like has been said already, Alpine would be a good choice if you include the head unit into the equation. Just throwing my two cents in even though the system has already been purchased.

This is my Idea of the ultimate system the entire Harmon collection

Becker Online Pro or a Mark Levinson system if I could find one in the US truely the best

JBL Power Series P6432 4x6 plate in the factory Kick panels

1 JBL P80.2

JBL C608GTI 6inch component set in the front doors

JBL C608GTI 6inch component set in the rear doors

2 JBL P80.2 amps one bridged for each side components

JBL C608GTI 6inch component set on the rear deck

JBL P80.2 amps one bridged for mono rear fill

4 JBL Subwoofers W15GTI powered by one JBL BP1200.1 each

all in all (inculding wiring and everything you would need....i.e. crossovers/eq) it cost a bit over $2,000......i'll dig the recipt out later im thinkin something like$2,600 or something like that.......like i said i'll dig the exact amount out and let ya know......keep in mind we already had a box to put them in. so the cost of that isn't included.
