Tiger style?

Nov 10 - According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Gary Sheffield has resumed his campaign to interfere with the Yankees' plans to trade him, but it's not going to work. In fact, there are indications the Yankees have made progress toward sending Sheffield to the Tigers.

An official with one of the teams involved said Detroit was "very interested" in acquiring Sheffield and had had multiple conversations about a deal recently. It was unclear what the Yankees would be getting in return, though the official said the Yankees were seeking "pitching, but that could mean starting or relief."

The Indians, Padres, Astros and Cubs are also believed to be interested in the outfielder.

if sheffield can stay healthy it may not be a bad move depending on who the tigers give up. sheffield is a patient hitter, which the tigers desperately need, he has some pop, he drives in runs, can play right, first and dh, all positions the tigers can use him at, plus sheffield has won a championship with leyland

Am I as boring as baseball? Not even close. The only sport more boring than baseball is Nascar, ugh.
if you got nothing to add then why post?

i'm starting to agree with the new 06 member rule //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sheffield is still a good player IMO. If he doesnt want to go I understand, but this isnt something that is his decision. It would be an added bomus for any of the teams that are interrested. He can field and he can hit...what more would you want.

I get a little perturbed the way some of these guys are. They act like baseball revolves around them...I would have dumped him a long time ago, as well as a few other players. Yanks have way too much money. Is there even a salary cap in baseball? I cant remember.

no cap. yankees payroll 200 million + tigers about 80 million. i hope the tigers don't trade bonderman or someone like that for sheffield. not sure if sheffield has a no trade clause

See that is BS...How would you expect a team to compete with that kind of money? Although go tigers for getting it done this year. Props to them even if they didnt take the series.

it's not the tigers not wanting to spend the money. before this season, no one would sign with the tigers. mike illitch has the money and is willing to spend it. maybe not 200 million but i see the tigers payroll jumping over 100 million in the near future.

What is so hard for you guys to understand? Just cause its the lounge doesnt mean that you can go off topic in a thread. The lounge is just topics that aren't car audio related.

Anymore OT shit will be deleted on site...repeat offenders will be banned.

you look at his situations though, florida dumped all their payroll, LA traded him cause he was in the last year of his contract and atlanta couldn't afford to resign him
yup, how many years has he been in the majors now? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ponder.gif.ec2527b23f1d287b60dcbba54f95edba.gif
