My friend has 2 identical amps to 2 identical sony(crap) subs in a pre-fab bandpass box. One sub blew... not like blew a hole threw but like it barely moves and sounds horribel. The subs were old so a dude order her a newest model (so there 2 different sony's in there lol) and the new one wants more power but my question is... if one blew isn't just a matter of time till the other one does to

exact amp, exact same settings, exact same subs

Thanx

Chances are that that sub may have some damage on it as well. So it may need replacing some time in the near future.

It's not even like their amps and decks, where at least you have the Mobile ES line to redeem them...

Were there ever Mobile ES subwoofers? I would assume so, but you don't see them on the used market today; which either means that they're so good nobody wants to sell theirs (doubtful), or they all exploded at one tme or another //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if the subs share the same chamber in the box that is probably the problem. if one amp is out of adjustment it will cause that speaker to work differently that the other causing it the blow the other sub or vis-a-virsa

vis-a-virsa
Is that like a combination between "vis-a-vis" and "vice-versa" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Have to give you credit for the creativity, though...

speaking of creativity and giving credit, you should talk to some of the hot girls around here. you will be giving me a lot more credit.

Yeah like I said its my friend's I'm jus gonna warn her then let a couple months go by and watch her re-place the other one. lol.....she bought that crap over my 2 s-types 12's lol

Pics of your friend...i mean, the subs...i mean...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There's nothing worth saving of that system. It really has no redeeming value...which is why I made the comment that the best thing that could happen is it would catch fire and hopefully be under some sort of warranty.

You'll get differences in waveform creation out of each sub because one is new and the other has been (im)properly broken in and played. The new one will have a higher Q for a while until it smoothes itself out.

It could cause problems. Convince this person to swap to a split chamber enclosure or risk losing the other old sub.
