if i..

Your given power ratings are for the 2 subscombined, correct?

As in that 600w RMS rating is for two 300w RMS subs?

If so you want an amp that will give you around 600w @ whatever impedence the two subs wired together creates.

quit playing it safe.....Memphis subs can take it.

i'd go 800-1000 watts rms at whatever ohm load you wire your subs to

OK thanks. Im probably going to go for a 1000 watt amp. But the only thing is, wouldnt i be wasting 400W?

And also, this is the information i have on my memphis M3 12's :

Single or dual 4-ohm voice coils

RMS/Peak (W) 300/600

Sensitivity (dB) 92.1

Magnet SIze (oz) 85

Mounting Depth (in) 6.1

Thats correct

no you won't be wasting it....if you get a 600wrms amp and crank too high, you'll be clipping the amp (not good for amp or subs) if you go with the 1000 watt rms amp you'll have a nice clean power(depending on amp of course) in the range you want..plus it'll give you a little head room....the memphis' can take more than 300

if you get single coils you want a 2 ohm stable amp if you get dual 4 ohm coils look for a 1 ohm stable amp

My recommendation was the result of knowing very little to nothing about Memphis products.

I've never run them and do not personally know anyone who does so I was basing my response purely on the given specs. If they're rated for 300w each then I assume they will operate at least somewhat satisfactorily on that level of wattage. I didn't want to suggest something to the OP that might potentially damage his gear, you know?

As far as playing it safe?

I run a sub rated for 600w RMS off of a D61500.1 @ 2 Ohms ~ rated 750w @ that load but actual output is more. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

yup i do know homie......its actually a very good general suggestion.

OK. What is the difference between 2 ohms and 1 ohm? I found a memphis amp and it gives 1000W @ 1 OHM, but only 600W @ 2 OHMs.
