Looks like MS fails at logic.

They state that noise is vibration and the tree falling creates vibration (noise). Therefore there is noise, just not a person to hear it.

I suppose if you want to look at it from that point, then yes it only becomes a "sound" when it's interpreted by our ears/brain but logically I think you can define sound as vibrations in the air regardless of interpretation.
