IDMaxes In IB or ported?

I've had an IDmax in sealed 1.5 c^ft for 3 months now, it hits hard and everything, but I want more. So Im gonna pick up a 2nd IDMax, I want a good SQ set up but more SQL. So Should I go for the IB set up or go for a large ported box? I originally wanted a 2.7 for the port but I guess I dont have enough space. So It'll probably be around 2.3 ported to 28hz each sub.

I am currently using a BX1500D to power the 1, I will be using that to power both when I get the 2nd one too for a few months until I get either the Arc 2500XXK or 2300Se. Thing is should I got port or just throw them on the back dash ? And will 500-650 rms to each sub be efficiant for either set up? (IDMaxes Dual 4 ohms)

So basically

1. Port at 2.3c^ft each ported to 28hz Or Infinite Baffle on back dash (LS400 Sedan)?

2. Will 500-650 Rms each be efficiant enough for either set ups?

ID recommends about 2.3 cubic feet tuned to 28 hertz, so that is just fine. As far as power goes, I gave both of mine about 800-900 rms and that seemed to be about the peak power for the subs. They are very efficient and 600 rms would still get you great SQL, although if you can go a little bit higher that would be optimal.

500-650watts would be fine for both setups. my reccommndation would be for the IB setup.

i have my pair of Maxes sealed 1.5 each 800w each, and i'm lovin it. im also too lazy for an IB setup.

Personally, I would IB. That's where the IDMax really shine.
This might be a noob question, but what makes a sub like the IDMax suitable for IB?

Just by looking at the Qts (.341) it seems that it wouldn't. I tend to have a bad habit though of looking at one spec and making judgements, so I'm trying to learn what else decides enclosure suitability.

Thanks.

A low Qts and low Fs design like the ID works perfectly fine IB...if you'll enjoy the response of a low Q system (i.e. the Qtc would be relatively lower aswell). It won't have the midbass "impact" that a higher Qtc would, but will have better extension in the low end.
