so what 8" sub would fit the following application most effectivly.

.4 cu ft sealed

sql (75% sq, 25% spl)

can handle 400 rms

so far i've come up with a couple of choices...

ascendant assassin x 4

kicker l5/l7 x2

tang band 8" x 4

P.S please don't post the rli or cmp or anyother subs that are two deep or are not suited for a sealed set up

My vote goes to the AA.

No particular reason other that they are not the mainstream and hear they are a good bang for the buck.

treo ssi 8. msrp is a little more than your stated price, but maybe you can find one somewhere.

I have an AA 10, not the 8, but it is very good for the price. For an 8 I would go with an SS since I have a pair of them, but since that is not on the list, my second choice would be AA

I vote AA. Although I am not sure of the depth of the Treo...look into the DD 1008 as well...

The DD1008's are very nice...but you'll need a little bigger box...at least .7 ported....You might can look at the Premier shallow 8...or the Earthquake shallow 8....

small sealed is where it's at for the treo. that's what it was designed for. mounting depth is around 4 1/4"

i can't seem to find anything on the Treo 8's. I have RE 8's now and i want to change.

what i can remember spec wise.... .3 -.5 cubes sealed (with .3 being recomended), 500 rms, dual 2 or dual 4's, but like any sub intended to drop bombs in a small sealed box, it's not very efficient.

How much $$ was that Treo? How about loss of SPL (in db's) from 50 to 35 HZ?
