Idea, will it work?

Ok, so I had an idea of how to do my box for my next build. I am driving a 2002 Grand Prix and am buying the seats of an 04+ Grand Prix so I can have fold down seats, but the trunks in these cars are a bit smaller than those in the 04s so I am worried about being able to get the 4-4.5 cubes I need for these subs with port and sub displacement.

So I came up with an idea. The idea is to use "external" aeros for the box that would fire up through the 6x9 opening. Since I will be pulling that rear deck "lid". Now comes the issues with the idea. First is getting the required port length needed to reach my tuning, especially since I have no idea how long they need to be to get that tuning. Second is getting them in there and secured with no real way to do it outside the car since they will be semi-external.

The subs of choice are gonna be 2 12" DC LVL4XLs. So any help would be appreciated, or if it is certain I will be able to do aeros firing down the driver side instead, or do a big slot port there.

aeros never really impressed me, slot port is def considered more in builds...
but I'd stick with the 1st idea and go with aeros...sounds like a cool idea.
True, it's a very cool and unique idea, but then I am wondering if numbers will suffer from that. Seeing as i will be firing the ports at my back windshield and the subs firing into the cabin. The cabin will be sealed off from the trunk for sure. This is a numbers build.

Still sounds good to me, doesnt seem like you're losing much since everything is still being fired into the cab. If you're unsure about the aeros, then us a slot port...either firing at the back windshield or straight at the front windshield. Not much to do with a setup like that...

I would recommend you doing this instead of a rear deck fire.

In the build, you can see the brackets i made to make it possible to screw box from the inside out.
