has any body tried the the tang bands out? which ever i get will be recieving 150 rms -200 each from a treo ssx75.4 or kicker kx800.4. what a good tweeter for either? plan on getting 4 of either one just looking for some guidance.which amp is of better quality(i want to get treo to match my other but not if kicker is better and $40 less...)

Another plus about the OEM's is they can be crossed relatively high.
yup but you still run into issues with beaming when so far off axis in a door. when i get my new tweeters i will be crossing the ID's over at 2k instead of 2.5k. response seems to drop off around 2.5k anyway with these in my car. the ID's continue to amaze me though. the sensitivity must have jumped a good 3 db or more after break in. when i first put them in i was listening at around 48-52 on my HU, now 48 seems too loud. i usually listen at around 42-45 now on my HU. never touched the gain on them either.

Yea, I also have mine at 2.5k (haven't tried to go higher), but I have read they play well up to 4k (most likely on axis).

The sensitivity is ridiculous on these... at least compared to the RSd's. I had to turn my gains down after swapping them. Now my gains are barely cracked!

I think once these get a little more break-in I'll go back and re-adjust my gains for all drivers.

So far though, I am really impressed with these. Overall tonality is perfect for me.

I'm curious to see how you like the Seas Neo Alums with these.

yea, i'm glad somebody agrees with me about the sensitivity. at first i was like, meh, they sound the same in terms of output, but as time went on i found myself at a lower and lower volume.

i placed the order last night for the seas tweeters, decided this morning that i wanted to be 100% sure i had them for the weekend so i called and had them ship them 2 day air. so i will have them in the car friday night. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

how do you have the rsd tweeters crossed? do you feel they can keep up to the ID mids?

Mids are BP'ed at 80-2.5k 12db/oct on each side and tweets are 3.15k with either an 18 or 24 db/oct (I can't remember). I still really haven't had any time to play around with different slopes and x-over points... I kinda just swapped mids, set gains, and set x-over/attenuation. I'm hoping to get some time to tweak a little tomorrow - just started classes this week, so time is hard to come by.

i don't know what you've read that i had posted on DIYMA but i recently got an RTA and realized that my tweeters were down REALLY low compared to the mids. i brought them up quite a bit and now it sounds better than ever (at low to mid volume) but now they just can't take it at higher volumes. it just sounds like i am killing them. they do keep up and get crazy loud but just don't sound smooth.

Yea, I've been quietly keeping up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'll play around with some different x-over points tomorrow and see what I find. You and your darn RTA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif So far, do you think the RTA investment has been worth it? I may be interested in getting one up and running down the road.
