Alright so heres the deal. tomorrow is my first sound competition with my new setup and i have a few questions / concerns. i have never done iasca before and i am doing both sq and spl.

1) i dont have rear speakers, just a set of good fronts, does this hurt my score at all?

2) for spl, what settings on my amp should i use..IE xover, subsonic, and what should i set my kenwood x891 headunit to for when i burp. This is somthing that nobody could tell me and it is somewhat of a noob question, but when i am getting metered, what will my approximate "sweet spot" im running a w7 on a zx1000 in a 2.5 cube 34 hz box. Also, should i push my sub box facing the rear of the car as possible, so that the sub is closest to the trunk lid as possible?

rear speakers can hurt you alot more than help particularly if the rears are too loud. most competitors dont run rear fill or if they do are disconnected or turned way down. also make sure your battery is charged!

well one problem I see is that you're tuned waaaay too low for a single sub (much less a w7) to put up the loudest numbers it could possibly do. You really need to do some testing on someone's Termlab to play around with your configuration on seats and windows to get loud as well. I have no idea how your box is setup, maybe some pics are in order to help us understand....but firing the sub to the interior will help some. Pics though, would be great.

pics later tonight after local car cruise
eh too bad, I wont be around to check out the pics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

seriously though, tuning your sub higher will get some better output numbers if your just doing burps...or hell just street beating at around 40 hz would be a nice target.

it's in york pa at tuner evolution.

i have seen people have a setup that can do spl and sq respectivley.

when i say im doing SPL, i PRAY that i can at LEAST do a 140 with my current setup. im not trying to set a record or anything, for some reason i just really want to do a 140 with one 12'' sub and around 1000 watts (even tho now im running at like 7xx)

i have always been a hater of the w7, but i wanted this one. it sounds good, it just as loud as the q was, with less power going to it, and it sounds 1000% better. This thing makes certain songs that i never knew had bass to them have bass.

how does iasca judge sq?

oh yea my buddy just told me about a show down york this weekend..but i didnt kno it was an iasca event..i have 2 15" ed A in the back of my blazer if i can get my viper 2500 fixed tonight i think i might go down tomorrow...i'd like to hear your setup, my friend has a 12w7 off of a jl 500/1 in a bazer and that thing is loud for a single 12 off 500w...
