if people were doing 300db they be dead instintly. You die after 5 sec. if you listen to a sound wave over 191 db im pretty sure but yea competions older sx will beat older xxx daily driven xxx will piss and clean its self off with a sx it's a known fact. But the new xxx I'm guessin are goin kill the sx in output since its going retail for I think 600 bucks:crazy:

How can anyone say a particular driver will be louder than another? I know you can do tests and prove other drivers loder than other in identical scenarios, but it's not guaranteed that driver X will be louder then driver Y. Also, What is the basis for the result? Time and time again, I see people asking which is louder and you see people spouting off mic readings. This is all good and well, but it's pretty much pointless comparison to a daily driver application just looking for some ear-splitting bass. Even in the competition realm, the results won't be the same everytime. Each application is different, not all alignments are alike, not every driver is exactly the same even if they are the same model. There's just too many variables IMO to say "yes, driver X is louder than driver Y."

Yes but you i will bet you SX in SPL set up will out want XXX in SPL set up...been proven time and time agian. Though you are right, loudness, in "close call" situations like this, is 100% dependant on set up and install and vehicle.

i agree with you to a point...but, in all reality some subs are just plain louder than others..

id have to go out on a limb and say an si mag will be louder than a verge sub of the same size given any alignment or power.

id take a dp over an sx in a heartbeat tho.

In light of this new info regarding the output of the SX, I'd really question what's up with your setup or hearing that you'd need another one. Either way, new subs are always fun, and IA has yet to disappoint.

i thought that the tests on the sx and xxx were done a couple years ago or more? as long as i can remember i have seen dumb noob comparos between the spl of the xxx and sx.

oh and while im post wh0ring with useless info, fryman i remember when you were in semi noobx form too. i started my noobness over at AF, its just that it got to be too slow over there. oh and im in no way saying im not still a noob

and hey what the hell might as well keep goin.. noah would you have any interest in helping me out with a custom component install soemtime when it gets warm and i get money? cause my speakers are driving me crqazy with shitty sound.. and you would know more abotu imaging and xovers (and cutting holes) and all that than i would. or maybe jason? or both?
