Nobody has any real informationon them yet. If it's as efficient or better than the previous models, you shouldn't need much. I'd do 1 extra battery in the back per amp, but that's just me. Most will tell you 2 batteries per amp. Not cheap batteries either. Deka G31's are nicely priced these days in the classifieds.

how much did the old ones put out at .5 ohms

probably 2400-2500 w/ the right electrical. I think that was a 14.4 volts
