You dont play the martyr well. I made it very clear what the expectation is on you from now on. Simply put, you've used up all your moderator time-sink cards. Again, the mods have plenty of work to do here as it is, and if any one member becomes such a problem as to require an unreasonable amount of the mods' time, the mods can and will remove that member. My post to you was to inform you that you have, at this point, reached that threshhold. You are a veteran of the hobby and this forum, and Id hate to see you go, but if my/our hand is forced, that will happen. Even now, with this "I can only post about turtles" nonsense, you are STILL testing your limits, even when I said your limit has been reached. Dan, if you value your membership on this board, you will drop the nonsense, including this passive-aggressive poor-me attitude. I consider this as me still giving you one last chance, even when I said I wouldn't. I cannot make myself any clearer than to say cut the crap, or I/we will remove you.

I think he's chosen a few members who seem to be the main troublemakers and plans to make examples of them....idk, either way, I think he's doing too much.
I don't understand what was so bad that all of the members felt a need to reconstruct the whole forum anyway. There was just as much trolling outside the dome as before. Most of the trolling I saw was in the dome, which to my understanding is what it is here for. So, why, all of a sudden, because a few members decided to complain about it when they got trolled themselves or by someone new and better at it, is it a capital crime? A lot of the regular users troll outside the dome all of the time and it seems like we/they all had a mutual understanding that it was harmless so no action was taken. But, some guy that all of the users don't know comes along and trolls a few of them and suddenly the whole forum needs to be rebuilt so we resurrect a dead mod to have him come back and play bad cop for nothing.
Simple answer: Get all new mods besides WD (even let regulars vote on them) and Get back on the forum and do some supervising, Goob.

Im not making examples of anyone. Using an alt account to bypass a ban has always been, well, bannable. As for Dan, I made my reasoning clear. If you think Im being too strict, go to caco or a few other ca forums and see if they will allow ANY badmouthing of mods at all, let aloone the 1-2 years of it Dan has done since he was passed over as a mod. If you cannot understand the reasoning that we mods cant allow a single member, or even a few members, to take up most of our time, then I dont know what else to say to you. Again, Dan is not banned, he's still welcome here, he's simply been asked to drop the dead horse routine that is his opinion that this site and its mods are all terrible. If he didnt have ulterior motives and truly felt that way, he would have left long ago. But he's chosen to stay, and cause trouble on a regular basis. After being gone about a year now, and returning to see him still playing that same fiddle, Ive decided enough is enough.

Lets be clear, I am in no way trying to protect SKAR. In fact, I created a post in the moderator back room asking what is going on with that situation, since I haven't been around to witness it. And my decision has been to leave the decision making on the SKAR situation up to the other mods who have been here to know whats going on.
Hope that clears up that theory.

He doesn't have the right to express his opinions? Granted, some of these may stem from him not being named mod, a lot of his views on this forum and its administration are valid as seen by other members agreeing with him in his threads and numerous others all around the site. I'm not saying that this is something you or any other mod can fix directly but, if it hasn't been done already, it needs to be brought to Goob's attention and requested that he take some action or at least reply to these threads instead of brushing the man off as butthurt. Even if you just feel like he's whining, what about the other members who obviously feel the same way minus the wanting to be a mod? Don't they deserve an answer of some sort?
As far as I'm concerned, Goob's business practices are not much better than Kevin's. Brush off the members with legit concerns as "butthurt" and enjoy the profit you're still seeing. I'm not one to go on a rampage, though and talk about how I'm gonna leave this site b/c that won't help anything but I will say there are some things that need to be addressed. It doesn't have to be a big ordeal (personally I don't think any of this should have been discussed so heavily lately) but since so many members seem to have an issue with it, the least Goob can do is sign into his own forum and at least TRY to appease his members.

I understand what you are saying, but lets consider some things. One, he's been allowed to express his same opinion, over and over, for about 2 years now. At this point he adds nothing constructive to that situation, he only tries to generate animosity towards the mods and this site. To cite an example, here's his reply to my return yesterday:
Does he have a right to express his distaste for myself, or the direction this site has taken? Sure. But again, its the same song and dance he's done since literally the exact day he was passed over as a mod (for Bob iirc). So clearly his motives are personal, and his approach is in no way positive. If this was caco, he would have been banned on the spot for saying what I just quoted above, and the post deleted. neither of those things happened, but I do feel its time to say enough is enough. Now, if in the future a mod makes a decision that he has some constructive criticism to add to the discussion, I will take that into account. My expressin here that he's reached his limit is to convey that this general animosity, again clearly based on his anger about not being named a mod, has arrived.
As for if any other members feel similarly, I did not, in any way, say or even suggest that no other members can express negativity toward a mod or a mod's decisions. In fact, Reson8 posted a similarly negative view of me as a mod, in this thread, you dont see me telling him he cannot say it anymore. Dan, based on the regularity of it, and the obviously biased motives, has reached his limit of "you mods and this site **** ***" comments. We mods here at ca.com want to allow freedom of speech, even if it means taking lumps we dont even feel we deserve. But we also have to draw the line at some point. That line has had to be drawn with Dan. He's welcome to stay and participate in this forum, he's even welcome to question situations if I and/or the other mods feel his comments are genuine rather than simply to stir up trouble. But too many times now his comments have not given me that impression, and I stand behind my decision that I wont tolerate it from him any longer. Sorry if you disagree, but look at the bright side, here at ca.com you are allowed to express your opinion that you disagree, because at least you've given some substance to your opinions. Hope you understand why I felt/feel I had to make the decision I did.
