No he wants to move his amp to the trunk also, he has it under his seats now. THat will give him enough power wire to run i to the trunk, and a nice 4 gauge ground as well. ANd yes i believe that will help his problem as there will be less resistance in a smaller gauged wire, thus less current demand and less dimming of the lights. I'm not saying his lights won't dim at all anymore, another part of the problem is the fact that he has the original battery in his car and its 6 years old. He's supposed to get a new one, cus the one he has doesnt charge at all and people always has to jump start his car.
