I went to a Tool tribute band...

Why is there a Tool tribute band when they're still around? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I can understand Zeppelin or the Beatles, but Tool?

and realized I had never heard a Tool song before. They were pretty good though.
Then never see tool. They blow and will not be better then the tribute band. Want proof that tribute bands can be way better then the original? Look up the band Sunn 0))), they started as a tribute band to the band Earth. Now Earth is on their label and is on occasion their opening act.

Have fun seeing an overrated band. Isis is way better.
That's funny- when I was buying tickets, I actually thought to myself "I'd really like to go see an absolutely overrated group in a few weeks..." and oh my GOD- THERE were the Tool tickets! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Isis is pretty cool. No need to rip on Tool though. They are both talented in their own right. And I'm definitely going to enjoy the show. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I hate tool for ruining an Isis show for me. The first time I had a chance to see Isis they were with tool and no band is worth shelling out $50 for a ticket! When I saw Isis a few weeks back tick cost me only $15, easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen, them and Boris are fantastic live.

Large venues blow! I'll take the little one with a 100 person capacity any day. Worst show I've ever been to was at the El Ray in LA, saw Neurosis, Red Sparowes, and Grails. Was miserable for most of the show.

I definitely prefer smaller venues as well. What sucks worse about Tool concerts is typically Ticketmaster will release the tickets to all their "presale" buddies so there are very few left by the time they actually hit the public market on the release date. Now, all the third party vendors that got in on the presale turn around and sell them for 200-300% their face value because they know enough people will pay it. I was fortunate enough to get them through Ticketmaster but this was the third time I've tried.

Thats the nice thing about liking bands that the majority of the population doesn't know about.

I agree
its one of those bands that if you dont like it people will hate you for it

they are nothing great, just alot of repative guitar riffs and a guy you can barley understand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
lol

lemme guess, you'd rather hear lyrics about *****es and ho's and ******* and *****'s?

tool songs have more meaning than ANY rap song i've ever heard and 99% of every rock song/lyric on the radio.

and i don't hate anyone for not liking tool (which happens to be my favorite band) and idk what kind music you listen to but tool's music has more variety in riff's than any other band that i know of, and screamo metal, that palm mutes everything to death, is just retarded so you can't count that.

btw who's going to see Rise Against thrtusday at myrtle beach?

i am //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i thought you were joking about that sun 0))) crap its just droning garbage at least tool plays their instruments, that sun 0))) stuff sounds like someone keeps plucking one string with some idiot making noise in the background WHITECHAPEL FTW

i totally agree, everyone just wants to hear how many times lil jon can say "Yeah!" or mike jones scream his own name. Any band with m.j.k. is way past anything u in that particular crowd can understand, u can clearly hear what he has to say, and the hidden meaning behind it. If you can't handle not hearing constant screams of "*****es n hoes". go to the nearest bridge, n jump off. when you do. M.J.K. will make a song about how you FAIL!

I really prefer music with no lyrics.

More electronica than anything.
