I want this ride......

Or you could buy a Corvette? lol
This is my dream car, a '67-'70 Chevelle. Drop a 572 in it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

1967 should not be included in that list, as the body style changed (for the worse) in 1968, and remained extremely similar until it changed again in 1973. IMO, the best looking chevelles were 66-67 (I own a 66).

x2, I love the 66's...had a '69 myself but turned into a project that I couldn't handle. Sold it to my mechanic for $2k worth of work.

Nothing has a guaranteed exchange rate. Not currency, not raw materials, nope not even gold. Nothing.
A $1000 worth of gold(at (X) oz. for the days market) WILL exchange/sell/trade for $1000. $400,000 worth of concept car MAY bring $400,000.................IF(and a big IF) you are able to find a buyer. That is the point i was making. Gold(example you gave) has an international market value and can be liquidated daily. This car cannot, as proven by the ebay listing. Never implied the actual value is more or less than the asking price, just said these types of cars are very unstable investments and sometimes hard to get a return on.

I guess Im not sure what you are getting at. Its a rare car, with some 'historic' significance, so some collector is (presumably) willing to pay a lot of money for the car. Some people here are knocking the car because its not practical as a daily driver, and you seem to be making the point it cant be resold as quickly as gold. While I agree both opinions are technically valid, they both seem to make a moot point. The rich guy buying this car, off ebay, wont be buying it to turn around and make a fast buck.
