i want sound quality

i have a rockford p1000-1bd MONOBLOCK amp. I do not want more than 1 sub.

i want nice clean deep bass. im not really trying to bang. im looking at the jl w3 but i really dont know anything about subs and dont want to blow it. can this sub handle my amp? is it a good choice for sound quality?

The w3 would take 1/2 your amp. Lol! You can always turn the gain way down. Leaves you room to upgrade.

First you need to find a sub thats made to work in the size of that sealed box.

Depends how much airspace you have in the enclosure.... I'll say an Obsidian Audio 12" to start...

I've got that same amp, you have about 1200-1400rms @ 1 ohm on tap. Look at the SSA Icon or Obsidian Audio

if your more after sound quality, a good sub for a decent price would be the alpine type x, it gets pretty loud to, and can be had new for $260 shipped.

How about an Ascendant audio Avalanche 15? XBL^2 for true sound quality and it can take your amp fine. pm me if you're interested.

Obsidian for SQ? Really? Isnt it a SPL woofer with decent sound? I figured ude recommend true SQ woofers.

A w7 would work well, pair of TC sounds epics, pair of dayton HOs, the xcon or icon from SSA is good for SQ. Ide also really look at FI Qs

SQ on the sub stage is a laughable anyway.

80% of "SQ" will come from the enclosure and install.

i wouln't get a w3 though i used one of these amps to power two 13 w6s for months, i would look into finding used 1000w rms woofers if you only want one.

SD and SQ does not roll off the tongue natural LOL... I agree with dustin its mostly in the box that this will be decided..
