Looking for a set for the front doors of my Chrysler 300. I was wondering if anyone had any input on the German made MB Quart RCE 216 (i think, lol) component set, or am I better off waiting on a used set of Focals, or something else?

Really the best thing for you to do is go out and audition as many speakers as you can. Everyone has their own listening preference, so one may like a set of speakers that you may not like.

For me, MB Quart was a little on the bright side for me when I listened to them a few years back. Focals, I hear a lot of people say the tweets are pretty bright.

I heard focals on a soundboard wasn't impressed. Kicker ks sounded much fuller and more aggressive to my ears- and that's what I bought.

Check out the hi-energy hertz (HSK Series) like the HSK 165s have these in my doors and they're loud and clean

I'd be curious to know what Focal's you listened to on the soundboard. I've listened to most of the sets of Focals and all have sounded good to me. Once again as it was mentioned above, good sounding equipment is different to everyone. Some speakers work better with different music and a lot depends on the amount of power you put to them. Find a good audio store in your area and listen to them, don't spend just 5 minutes in there spend like 20-30 minutes to give a good listen to the speakers. Speakers also work different depending on their air space. A lot of those soundboards are just open air in back which can change the sound for some speakers.

I love the way my new style DD componets sound in my Wrangler and Audi...I'm running them active in the Wrangler and using a passive XO in the Audi...both sets sound really good....
