I don't need rated power..... I'm getting bx1605d's and I will set my gains between 1000-1200 watts. Why would I get a 2500D? Their power hogs, not very reliable, don't put out a lot of power at 2 ohms, and overpriced IMO.

i wouldn't say they are power hogs, unless u run them at .5ohm...even then, they aren't bad.

not very reliable? i've ran mine a real long time at .5ohm daily...not a single issue ever. and u can find them for around $500, how is that overpriced?

my hifonics? reliable, sorta. pulls current like a slightly larger amp would. the glowing name thing has never worked, not like i really wanted it to anyway, lol. does pretty close to it's rated power, 750wrms. but it (nemesis nx750) @ 1ohm dims the lights in my wife's trailblazer as much as the orion 2500d does at 1 ohm.

all in all, neither are bad amps. and unless ur talking goliaths, most other amps in the same power range usually smoke hifonics.

but it's ur money......personally, i just can't wait to start seeing some pics....

He's going on MY personal exprience with the Orion 2500d. He used to live right near me. I ran the 2500d @1ohm daily, with a 220 amp HO alt, red top under hood, and yellow top in the rear. The piece of shit literally SHUT DOWN...a lot. Maybe it was just the one I had...but that's enough to make me PERSONALLY (and obviously him) not want to use one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

I'm going on Kurt's too. He's got a pair in his car and he doesn't like them at all....... hopefully he'll be switching to 20.1's. And No 1700 watts is not a lot of power for 2 avalanche 18's...... I'm getting wood today and starting the construction. I'll take pics tonight where the back seats were taken out and then pics again tommorrow of the progress.

from my experience, as well as many other's, that just don't happen. but hey, everyone makes a lemon once in awhile. it's too bad you had such a bad experience, i like my orion a chit ton.

Well te trip to Ascendant went great until my car broke down in the middle of hicktown Indiana. So I'm just gunna sell it and get something diferent. I was looking at an '03 Yukon Denali today.... I like it a lot. Maybe a Tahoe or something along those lines.

Anyways Ascendant was awsome and Chad is a great guy. I got the last two AV18's to ever be made.....lucky me. I'll get on here and give everyone an update later, I'm in class right now.

Weellll The Av18's are in the explorer now and wangin pretty hard...... I'm talkin retarded loud. More then any daily driver should ever be. Nice low end too. The box is 12cubes net to 28-29hz with 110 sqin of port area. I'd like more port area, but thats all I can get...and there's no port noise so who cares. Was powered by a PG 400.4, but I had to ship that out today, so I swapped in a ca600 till I get some real power.

The 2500d is .5ohm stable for daily. A lot of people run it like that.

I would take the 2500d over a pair of 1605's anyday.

Well I have a different problem with mine. the lights turn on, but it doesnt work. Ive talked to there customer service twice and it seems its always my fault even though the amp only worked about 3 months out of a year warranty. Next call i'm telling them they are fixing it under warranty or I'm going to be a hifonics hater for ever. Its not like i had it working hard it was pushing 2 12's with 300 rms each at 1ohm.
