That may require an arthroscopy by an orthopedic surgeon to figure out whats wrong.
Doesnt hurt (they put you to sleep), but its not cheap if you dont have insurance.

My proceedure cost about $4,000 on an outpatient basis.

I figure its just a sprain. If its not better at all in a couple days, i'm gonna get it checked out.

So last night, I bent over backwards (limbo-style) while trying a new position with my gay lover and my knee blew out. Felt like it popped out to the side. Twisted my ankle when I fell over.

i would def first get a knee brace the next day. If it was still painful/swollen within a week .. or so i would go to doctors office and have them check it out. If the knee requires surgury .. GL and hope u come out safely. If it doesnt.. hope the doc prescribes some painkillers .. bcz you wont be able to walk without being in a lot of pain..

Well, I went to the doc and got x-rays on Monday and the Orthopedist today. The orthopedist says that my knee itself is looking fine. It is pretty stable, and my tendons and ligaments and whatnot are fine. However, my x-rays show that there may be a piece of bone or cartilage behind my knee cap. I get an MRI tomorrow, and if it shows anything, I have surgery on Friday.

It turns out that I broke off a nice piece of cartilage, about the size of a fingernail. Surgery in 4 hours.

i had that in wrestling in 7th grade... felt like my knee cap slid out to the side and made a loud popping sound.... hurt like ****...its fine now though

I did that freshman year of football. kneecap dislocated and it actually stayed dislocated until I got to the hospital. Doctor had to put me to sleep then he popped it into place. hurt like hell, had to wear an immobilizer for a month.
