Correct me if im wrong. The 12v version can only be used in the lanes with the car off and the 16v version is the one that you want for daily and works from 11 or so up to 16 volts. Not many of the 12v's floating around the usa.

That's pretty much correct with the exception the 16v can work from 10-16v. I don't see any reason why the 12v couldn't be used for music but it wasn't designed for music. More of a spl amp.

And this is a killer price.
