i never had anythign really loud in my car.. until tonight that is. me and my friend decided to set up another friends system. well today was the box building stage. we built a seven cube 32hz box for two 15" comp VRs. its rediculous. i had a comp vr before (was my 1st sub) sealed and was actually borrowing one recently. now im breaking in the two for my friend. sorry.. i know.. "this thread is useless w/o pics" hah i have no access to a digital camera.

so on to the problem. every sub ive had in the past wasnt too loud. so, the windows would rattle a little, body panels, etc. now, they sound like theyre rattling off my car. every window is rattling, every body panel is rattling roof is flexing, speaker grills are rattling, you knwo the routine.

i have an SUV, so my back hatch is the source of half of it. the small vent windown for the back seat are also pretty bad. yeah i knwo dynamat and foam for the body panels, but if i want to get spl like this for my car how to i stop rattlingfrom windows?

i like SQ but if i get SQL, its gonna soudn liek shit regardless of how my system is. rattling is gonna cover it up even if its distortion free.

sorry this thread makes little to no sense im tired..

Did you read his post? He wants to stop rattles in his SUV....

if the window is wind straight up or straight down do u still hear the rattling...cause i dont hear my friends windows rattling when his bass is thrown up

Rear hatch, install rubber washers on the spots that the hatch meats the frame of the car. Make sure to add 2-4 layers of deadner on the entire metal surface of the rear door to weigh it down.

At first my montero's panels shook like crazy. Especially the roof. After installing fatmat on every panel it's a heck of a lot better. Only bit I get now are the interior trim pieces. Working on them slowly.

Go to home depot and get some thin weather striping and put it along the metal frame of the pop/click window where the glass meets the metal and that should solve your problem.

vehicle is a 96 ford explorer..

how hard is the roof to deaden? cause mine flexes pretty bad.

ill deaden the rear under the glass once i get my new subs in my car, whatever they might be.

and ill try the washers/weather stripping for the glass in the back thanks

that back window rattles like a mofo, cant really do too much about it though except maybe add weatherstripping to the glass where it meets the gasket.
