I just traded my IDQ for MTX Audio T7512-44

Well not yet but i am interested just from the value of the speakers. My buddy that works at the local audio shop said he has two 12" MTX 7500's and he said he will trade me straight up for my used IDQ. The MTX's arent even fully broken in yet.

How is the SQ of those drivers? I do not want to go from pure SQ to two subs that i cant listen to my DMB or victor wooten on... I can do sealed of ported and will most likely run just one of them until i get a new amp.

Is that a good trade or am i going to make a mistake? Of course i can listen to them before we trade i just wanted some other peoples opinions on the subs for the long term.

That was a bad trade unless the IDQ is broken.

dont do it. The 7500s hit hard but sound decent at most.

Port your IDQ before you look into 'upgrading' for output capabilities. They wont win any SPL awards, but they liven up nicely ported. Try it, you can thank me later.

I have the mtx 8500 and I wouldn't recommend you trading for those even let alone the 7500's. I'm looking for something else.

aww man guys i went to the shop and let him hook them up to my amp because he didnt have anything to power them with and i went with the trade anyways. I had my IDQ in 2.75cuft @ 29.9hz..... i liked it sealed better.

good luck. i will agree with many that it was quite a downgrade, but what is most important is how it sounds to you.
