I just had an idea...

I've been looking at the xxx 6.5's recently, but I know they won't fit in my door. The sick baastards at gm decided to give me 6.75 speakers w/ about 2.5 inches mounting depth //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif . That's a really odd size. Anyway, to the point--would it sound ok if I inverted the xxx's in the doors? That thing has one sweet ***, and it would look real good IMO. Would this affect imaging or performance? If so, I guess I'll have to put them in some kicks and put the midrange in the doors if I decide to go active.

Anyway, its just a thought.

Let me put this eloquently........

DO NOT DO THAT

It'll cause major phasing problems and such. Not a good idea, not a good idea at all.

Nice try from an ingenuity standpoint that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

Well, then my speaker grill would not fit back on. You see, the stock speakers are components, and so the 6.75's and the tweets are right next to each other, and the grill takes up a large portion of the door. It would look very ugly. My only choice is to go with kodas (which are still stretcging it) or fiberglass. Fiberglass looks like the best option.
