I bought 2 infinity kappa perfect 12.1 subs and an Infinity reference 611a amplifier.

I decided to only use 1 of the subs (single 4ohm)

can i wire the mono amp to 4 ohms? because i was reading its recomended to get a 2 channel and bridge it to 4ohms

Yes. It puts out about 450rms @4ohm. So you're fine. You would have gotten more out of your amp @2 but it will be fine @4.
