Came across two of these Saturday while sneaking up and peeking at some food plots looking for some turk turks. Snuck up on them while they were headed me way. Popped up out of the brush at 40 yards and they got the "oh sh1t" look on their face. This one cuts out running and I roll him. Took out his rear end and then he starts making it off on two legs so I down him for good. I turn around to see the other one staring at me from 60 yards so I sling some 2 1/4 oz of Hevi 13 #6 his way. He hops up in the air and goes on a dead sprint. Never found the second one, but he is hurting.

besides being pretty much the only natural predator to most game (most areas) you are right.

I pop most everyone I see, unless its in the middle of the rut and I don't want to mess up a hunt. Of course yotes have messed up a hunt of mine several times.

I wish. My dad said there used to be a bounty on them when he was younger. Some trappers tan the hide and sell it.

Not that I noticed. I was going to walk up and finish him off with the butt of my gun til he started showing his teeth and growling at me. Went back to tell my dad I shot a yote instead of a turkey and was going to finish him off with the glock. He had expired by the time we got back.

Theyre everywhere where I live. They kill house dogs and cats, whatever else they find, unless theyre fenced in. I heard of a guy around my area kill one the string it upside down on a post as a warning to the others.

Never heard anything further, I figure it was probably eaten by coyotes.
