Ok I just got a h.o. alternator, its 200 amps. What size fuse should I run?
yeah you are dumb. a fuse is to protect the wire from catching fire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifFuse for what? Your Big 3 or the fuse to you amp? If for your big 3, You don't have to have one unless your wire is long and ran near a bunch of things that could cut it somehow. Mine is short and non fused. If you asking about the one to your amp, that all depends on how much current your amp pulls.

if you intend on running 1/0awg then use a 300a fuse(since thew wire is going to be fairly short, otherwise if you were running it to back of car i would have suggested 250a))
lol mechanic replace wire too instead of adding...no backup linelol a fuse saved my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
dude who put my h/o alt in decided it was a great idea to run the 0/1 against the serpentine belt
needless to say i wasnt happy when my car died on the side of the road in COLUMBUS
eh, id rather be safe than sorry...ill keep my fuses since ive already had one problem cuz of some boneheadMehhh...i havent fused my Big3 wire in either of my cars....if its ran right it doesnt need to be....but i guess if you have some laying around go for it
