I got a free sub, what should I do?

I got a free 12 Inch JL W0 sub.

Only thing is, it is 12 ohms. From what I gather, these are intended to be run in sets of three to equal 4 ohms.

Is a 12 ohm sub any good to me at all by itself? What are my options to power it.

one of my friends gave it to me, he just got a new sub.

It was in a sealed box, and I took it out expecting it to be a 4 ohm, and lo and behold, it was a 12 ohm.

whats the power rating on it? it's going to be hard to find an amp that will put out sufficient power @ 12 ohms.

Jeezus, a huge amp.

ANY amp will power it, but to get any kind of output you'll need something like a 1500 RMS amp @ 2, and it'll still only sip 100 watts or so from it.
