i got 2 court dates? i must be a noob..

I am confused, had a dui in august, lawyer did the first court date to plea or w/e

NOw i have another one soon, is it for sentencing? is that going to be 1-1 with judge and lawyer or in a big *** room with a bunch of other people getting sentenced too?

usually it is in a large courtroom with many people, but can vary. certainly not a personal conference with you the lawyer and judge hahaa

lawyer does his thing before you get to court asking for a reduced charge and sentence

there is no one on one man. you generally are in one court room with many people. They get called forward, go through the process right then and there in front of everyone. If you have a lawyer he should know the story and answer or talk to the judge for you, unless the judge addresses you directly. From there it is whatever the they decide.

your first court day was mostliikey a bail or arraiment. they decide if you go to jail or get p.r bail ect. usely the day after arrest. they you got back for the hearring. thats when you plead your case. to jugde and D.A. sometimes there is a 3rd time for senticing. you have a lawyer just stand up look the jugde in the eye and be quite awnser all ? yes your hornor and no your hornor. dress nice. the jugde is going to have two opinons about you your charge and record, and your appearnce. appearnce is important. i dont know the laws but in mass if its your first time you can get a cwf continued with out a finding. oops thats for weed dont get that here anymore for duis cuz of meldies law. you lose your lic for 45 days and have to do to drunk school plus all the fines and fees.

lawyer helps some have pull with cops, da, jugdes the right lawyer you can get away with murder prime example O.J

your biggest mistake was not going with ur lawyer to the first date. now the judge will look at you as a snoody (sp?) kid who doesn't think this whole thing is serious. no way n hell id miss a date. what if the lawyer forgot part of the story or something? I need t be there to correct his ***. pluss u not going to court shows u don't care...
