I got 2 broken x360's for free...

One i was told had the RROD, but when i started it up, everything is a go, the controller wont work with this one, and it wont read games. It makes a ticking noise when it starts to read, really loud.

The second one the controller works with it, but it also wont read games.

Any suggestions on how to fix these? Both are from '07

Well wouldnt it do the RROD again if it had it?

It ran fine with no game for like 15 minutes.

Its green and acts normal so far

First one dump it

second on find a new drive or send it to someone who can swap the drive and flash it at the same time so you can play "backups"

I can fix them, i just pulled them apart and took the drives out.

depends on the true reason of the RROD. not all RROD systems have the same issues. the most common issue is the GPU's soldering coming undone which causes the RROD. though there are some RRODs that may have bad memory issues or caps that have burned out or as you mentioned as well that the 360 won't pick up controllers. i wouldn't want a 360 that has no wireless controllers.

like said dump the first one.

if you think you can swap the lasers from the first 360 drive to the other 360 you may end up with a working 360 if you can pull it out of rrod status. though you may have deeper issues with the drive like a PCB board gone bad, which i have seen.

flashing drives is not possible on everyones computer. i can't flash drives so :/

check and see if you can flash the drive but overall i would just send the second 360 to someone who can install and flash a new drive in there to play backups.
