so out of all the installs i have done myself i finally FVCKED UP! not to bad but when i was securing the sub down i slipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif! frckn created a tinny tear about 2 mm long all the way through! so i immediately threw on sum window sealer aka sillicone on the outside then after reading a lil more put clear nail polish on the inside. should i have done this? will it hold?

You'll be fine.

I've done that before too. Then I decided to lay a finger on the surround near where I am screwing. I would rather drive my bit through my finger than the speaker from now on haha.

Caulk it and you're fine.

!haha this was my LAST! SCREW TO! when u say caulk it what u mean its already siliconed and nail polished //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

join the club bro. after installing so many speakers you are bound to put at least one hole in a sub. the safety sleeve drill bits work wonders if u use drywall screws to secure your subs.

yeah i now wrap my hand around that bad boy now! dont wana do it again! i said some choice words when it happened woke up my poor old neighbor to! haha

Happened to my FI Q, but I didn't do it. Some how it happened from playing it or something hitting through my grills.:wow:Changed the sound a lot. Sounded like a wet fart everytime it slammed. I tried to fix it with basically the same ish and it didn't work.

I since sold it like that and he knew about it and said probably need a recone, but he ended up doing the same thing I did and said it has been fine ever since. Must not have sealed it up good enough or something. Was a good sized rip as well.
