Buck call the fucking cops and just file the report. Worry about talking to an attorney after, but filing a report should be your first priority.

Nashville is big enough there should be a theft department. Just call them and tell them you want to speak to someone about items stolen from you. They'll take it from there. Tell em' everything that happened and now you've found your stuff on your local CL. I'm sure they've done many cases like this before.

Now would be time to consult gpa lol. Try to dig up as much as you can on the guy on your own without looking suspicious just in case. Police are lazy these days especially when its not worth a lot of cash, but if you have more info and already have the case laid out they'll jump on it.

Did the cops ask for serial numbers or anything, at all? Ive been in similar situations before, and the cops went out of their way to try and inform me of the likely outcome. I find it a bit odd the cop(s) didnt even say "we are going to talk to him about it" or "we cant prove its stolen without serial numbers" etc.

id go with your buddies and meet up with him. ask him where he got it. and just act all casual. then say hey, does the radar detector spring not work? and did it have velcro on it? then if he answers yes, you know its yours, tell him hey, give it back now, or we can beat your but now.
