Next will be welding battery tray to mount 2nd batt in engine bay right across from other batt. so will be welded and made a bracket for it right off the driver side fender.

If I thought you'd take me seriously, I wouldn't have said it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Ive actually used this joke before, it never seems to go over too well. Maybe I should stop using it. Nah, I still get a kick out of it.

Install is looking solid.

haha yeah man that would be fckn funny as all can be though if someone actually did do that. Thanks man it's getting there glad i can finally start it been waiting 6 1/2 months. still gotta get a h.u. but that's it .

Also if anyone has a pic or something simmilar to the battery tray idea plan im talking about could you post a link or maybe a pic to help me think of more up an idea. Appericate it:D.

Thanks for the input Bahn, cause I have a baby and she is sensitive to a lot of wierd smells and not. Might just have bad allergies or what not and don't really want my car smelling like this stuff.

Install of the Mat looks great. It took a whole 50sqft to do the hatch area or what is in the pics? I have 100sqft myself, but have a small car in a Focus ST. So wanted to get the trunk, rear deck and at least front doors done.

Did you have a system in this before lying down the mat? Cause I have and I probably will be more critical than someone who hasn't had a system to distungish the difference.

Good luck on the rest of the install, looks great so far.

Im not sure what your batt tray is, but here's a pic of how I tend to mount batts (make or buy brackets and bolt it to floor or mounting board)..

I dont have the bolts put in yet to actually secure the batt(s) to the false floor, but Im sure you get idea from seeing the bracket. I made those brackets (obviously) but you can generally buy adjustable length brackets at any auto parts store. Should come with long J-bolts. Buy some eye-hooks to secure to the floor or mounting board, then secure batt/bracket to the eye-hooks. Viola.

bigbangtheory, generally speaking butyl rubber mat wont smell. It does have abit of an odor to it, but nothing like the old asphalt stuff did. What always made the aspahlt stink was the heating process for applying it, that's not done with butyl mats. No heating, no melting, no stinking.

Oh alright thanks for the idea audioholic. Bigbang thanks man it's getting there that was only 50 sq.ft. there i just ordered another roll last night so i can do my hatch door , finish up the back and doors. it doesn't have any odor at all and i was heating it up before i layed it sticked great also also just make sure the surface is clean before laying it also. mine had alot of dust dirt etc.... so cleaned it all up. works great though and no i didn't have my system in there yet still waiting on a h.u. so i can do my install:D.

Well after reading what that one guy Rudy said, I was under the impression this wasn't Butyl Mat. More a rubberized compound kinda like peel and seal, which I guess could just be roofing material. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif That is what that guy said and seemed to know a thing or two about mats. I don't know thought. Mine does have some smell to it, but nothing to heavy. That was just taking it out the box, not really rolling it out. Thanks for the input, always appreciated from you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Oh I dont know about that mat specifically. But if rudy said, Id take his word for it. I thought we were talking about a regular butyl mat product, my bad.

It's cool man. I wish you were right and he was wrong. I mean I only spent 120 dollars, but still feel like it should work, but will have to wait to see once I put it on to truely judge it. That is why I will take it in spots, so if I don't like the smell or how it sounds, I will look into something else.
