i was playing around with my subsonic filter yesturday and discovered that the lower i set it, the "louder" it became to my ear... and it was boomier, (maybe less loud to a mic and outside the vehicle) but to my ear, it's a lot boomier... i can feel the bass a lot more too... does this sound accurate to you guys???

Are you sure it is a Subsonic filter and not a High Pass filter???

Frequencies between 20-28hz are not really loud in most setups. By lowering it, it should not get noticeably louder.

it's subsonic for sure... it definately is louder or atleest feels it.... it was set around 35, i dropped it 30 or so and it was boomier

Duh. You should have it set like 8-10hz below your boxes tunning. Jeez 35 what were you thinking lol. I have mine at 26hz

You set the SSF to 1/2 octave below tuning. For a 35hz tuning frequency, that'd be 26hz.

ok, i'll have to turn my gain down a bit i guess, i set it at 34.6v which is about right for a 1200rms amp @1 ohm, am i too conservative with an sx?

1200 will be fine for teh SX. Just listen and look. You see any thing wrong turn it down.
