i expected THIS from ups or fedex...not dhl...

how did u go about getting a refund?
Send pics to the shipper. The shipper has to file the claim by calling DHL. They will need to submit pics and some documentation of what it costs to either fix if possible or replace the broken item. DHL will lose the first claim, you will call them a month later and they will tell you that you have to resubmit the claim. The shipper will resubmit the claim. You will wait another month and they will tell you they need the pics/pricing info refaxed. That will be refaxed and DHL will sit on their *** for a few months for their claims people to "review" the claim. If you are lucky they will finally cut the shipper a check. They might ask you to have a DHL claims person come by and check out the broken merchandise before they cut a check.

I hope all situations aren't as bad as mine was, but thats what I had to go through.

Honestly in all my audio dealings, I've never had an issue using UPS, but FedEx can go blow the largest Donkey Cawk available. In 3 dealings with Fedex to ship to me from the same company to the same exact address in less than 2 months, (not my choice, is now) they all got delayed atleast 2 weeks.

But admittedly never was their damage like the above post.

All shipping companies make me nervous, but especially DHL...they are the devil!
I had two MT12's shipped to me and they managed to break both of them, not just a little bit either, the basket was snapped in a couple places. When I got home the boxes had such big holes in them I could see the subs through the holes from my driveway.

Took me 6 months to get a refund from DHL, they were absolutely horrible to deal with on the refund!
At least you got your refund man. I had 2 18" MTs both arrive damaged from UPS, they denied my claims both times. Didnt receive a penny.

I always ship my boxes with DHL, have had good luck with them.

I believe DHL and other companies deny claims to discourage people. I was a persistant ***hole and I think that made them finally give in.

Sucks about your UPS deal...Idda told them to find some grease as quick as possible because I was headed down to cram two broken 18" moofers up somebody's ***.

 
Yea, mine was fedex not ups, but both have messed up on me before. Looks like they dropped it on its side and broke 4 or 5 spokes I think and seperated the ring in a 5" - 6" section.

 
In all reality, I would bet all packages get handled in the same manner regardless of shipping company. Each package goes through so many hands/facilities that they are going to get dropped/kicked/thrown.

At least thats the way I look at it. Thats why I go with DHL, cheapest company and still VERY fast transit times. just called them...they said that the shipper has to start the claim
****, hopefully he gets on that quick for you. Good luck on gettin some money back. If he is a good seller he will refund you and wait for the claim to go through to refund him.
